Biography
I had a very different musical education.
From within the womb onwards, I listened to my parents’ substantial record collection.
I heard the best Jazz Singers, Musicians and Bands of the day. My parents also liked gospel singers, and classical composers.
It was a matter of course that I got piano lessons.
I could read and write music.. but not sight read. I learned later in life that I have a condition comparable to dyslexia.
Fortunately, that forced me to commit what I wanted to play, to memory.
And memory then became knowledge.
When I came of working age, I already knew and could sing a lot of songs, and I could quickly learn new ones. It was only natural that I became a professional musician
Music is in my DNA.
Due to working nightly in piano bars or bands, I then became connected to the pop music of the day. I still remember much of what I played.
Because my daytimes were free, I had the opportunity to practice playing other instruments. This ultimately led to me playing Guitar, Bass and Drums, which I love and now I have a collection of vintage gear to play with.
